Taking care of fabrics not only ensures that washed garments have a clean and impeccable appearance, but it also extends their useful life and preserves their quality. At a professional level, whether in hotels, clinics, industrial laundries or professional laundry services, washing and protecting textiles requires specialised processes and the use of products designed for each specific need.
In this context, professional washing stands out for its combination of standardised processes and specialised products. Detergents are formulated to clean thoroughly without damaging fibres, even on delicate fabrics such as fine cotton or synthetic blends. Added to this are bleaches and disinfectants, which remove stubborn stains and microorganisms, and fabric softeners, which not only add freshness but also reduce friction between fibres, making ironing easier and preventing premature wear.
In professional textile care, different products with specific functions are used. Professional detergents clean thoroughly and remove dirt without damaging delicate fibres. Bleaches and disinfectants, which can be chlorinated or oxygenated, help remove stains and microorganisms depending on the type of garment.
Industrial fabric softeners provide freshness and softness and make ironing easier, as well as preventing static electricity. Fabric protectors coat the fibres to protect them from stains, liquids and wear and tear. Finally, neutralisers remove any chemical residues that may remain after washing, preventing skin irritation and fabric deterioration.
This process begins with rigorous sorting of garments according to colour, fabric type and soiling level. This allows for setting variables such as temperature, time, and product dosage. In critical sectors such as hospitals, additional disinfection treatments are included to ensure maximum safety. After washing, professional drying and ironing help to maintain the original shape of the garments, while final stain-resistant treatments further extend their useful life.
Stains on towels and bed linen caused by hygiene and personal care products containing polyquaternium-7 are a common problem in most laundries in hotels, gyms, beauty salons and residential homes. This problem leads to an overinvestment of resources due to rejection, a considerable increase in laundry costs and even the replacement of stained garments, as polyquat stains, once produced, are virtually impossible to remove.
AD SHIELD is a liquid neutralising additive that is added to the pre-wash cycle and acts as an ion exchanger on the polyquaternium molecule. The process breaks the ionic bond that binds dirt and the substance together through electrostatic attraction. In this way, the product prevents negatively charged particles from attaching themselves to polyquat residues during the washing cycle.
As a result, fabrics prewashed with AD SHIELD remain protected against staining, greying and colour transfer.
